For Alumni

Reconnect with SPAN

As a student-led and student-run organization, SPAN and the Minnesota SPAN Association (the companion 501-c-3 non-profit entity) rely on both current and former SPANners for governance, participation and volunteerism. The students who are involved in directing the program and the non-profit organization enjoy the support, input, and guidance of SPAN alumni who remain connected to the program because of the difference it made in their education, and their professional and personal lives.

As a SPANner who is thinking about rejoining the organization, or as one of the many alumni who are actively involved with SPAN, we invite you to more closely examine the pages within the “For Alumni” section of this website. Find out how you can more fully belong to SPAN. Join again, now!

SPAN, the Student Project for Amity among Nations, is Minnesota’s oldest, and one-of-a-kind study and research abroad program. Open to students from all Minnesota colleges and universities, it was founded in 1947 by a group of students who saw the need for international understanding. Since its inception, 3,000 SPANners have visited 93 countries on six continents.
