Destination: Cuba & Puerto Rico

Faculty advisor: Melisa Riviere, Ph.D., is an anthropologist who is currently a visiting scholar at the Institute for Caribbean Studies, University of Puerto Rico. Her doctoral dissertation focused on the local and global expressions of hip-hop in Cuba and Puerto Rico. She has also served as an instructor at the School for International Training, where she directed the Cuba study abroad program.

Co-advisor: August Nimtz, Ph.D., at the University of Minnesota who teaches political science and offers a course in the Cuban Revolution.

Destination: Russia

Matthew Miller, Ph.D., history professor at the University of Northwestern – St. Paul and author of the recently published The American YMCA and Russian Culture: The Preservation and Expansion of Orthodox Christianity, 1900-1940.
